Greetings Resurrection Blue Springs!
I hope you all had a wonderful Independence Day celebration. Even after having lived here now for several years, I am still amazed at the number of fireworks that go off. It was a 360 degree show where we live and a great display of patriotism for this amazing country we are privileged to live in. I am grateful for the many sacrifices that have allowed our freedom.
Last Sunday we capped off another great VBC week with a picnic on the back lawn. The kids had a wonderful time with all the water fun and the big slip and splash slide. Some of our parents mentioned their envy (you’ll be happy to know we have a adult slip and slide night coming up before summer gets away from us). Be sure to check out the great photos from the week of VBC on the Rez Blue Springs KiDSCOR facebook page, if you haven’t already done it. I also want to say a big thank you to all our KiDSCOR volunteers for creating this Jesus & Me experience for our children.
This weekend in worship, I'll lead us through the second movie in our Gospel in Film sermon series. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle! is a reboot of the 1995 original with some surprising twists. It offers a great backdrop for exploring what it is to be strong and courageous in our faith and how God calls each of us to use our distinctive gifts. I hope you’ll plan to join us in worship and take this opportunity to invite a friend.
Make sure you check out the other upcoming opportunities listed below too. There’s some fun ways to build community and serve together coming up soon.
