A Conversation on Environmental Ethics with Micah Corps
Join us Sunday, July 15, following the 10:45 am worship service, for a theologically rooted conversation on environmental ethics and what we can do to fully live into God’s calling as stewards of the earth. Reach out to Patrick.McLaughlin@cor.org with any questions.
Strengthening Families
Are you interested in helping local families who may be working with Child Protective Services stay unified? With your Christmas Eve offering generosity, RezDT will sponsor a Downtown area Strengthening Families Program (SFP) this fall. SFP is an evidence-based family skills training program found to significantly improve parenting skills and family relationships. We need volunteers like you to be the hands and feet of Christ as facilitators (training available July 13-14), to provide meals, childcare, and transportation, and to provide hospitality and organizational leadership. These are all ways you can help for one evening or multiple evenings over a 14-week period this fall. Contact PastorPatrick@cor.org for more information, or sign up here!
Serve Saturday July 21
Invite family and friends of all ages to join RezDowntown on the third Saturday of each month for community service #withKC! Show up at 1522 McGee at 9 am to be introduced to our construction team, refugee children’s reading program, and many other Serve partners around KC. Each month, we help with a variety of meaningful projects like painting, cleaning, and landscaping. Email Pastor Patrick.McLaughlin@cor.org with questions, or if you plan to bring a group!
Get Connected at Resurrection Downtown!
Whether you’re new to Resurrection Downtown or been attending a while, join us for Getting Started on Sunday, July 29 (this date has changed!), right after the 10:45 am service, to hear from Pastor Scott about RezDowntown’s story and learn about ways you can get involved. Or, if you’re ready to make Resurrection Downtown your church home, you can join us for Coffee with the Pastors on Sunday, August 26 at 1:30 pm. Faith-based Al-Anon Group at Healing House
Resurrection Downtown ministry partner Healing House will host an Al-Anon faith-based support group starting Saturday, August 4, from 10 - 11 am, and every Saturday thereafter. This group is open to anyone whose life has been affected by another person's drinking/drug use – they do not need to be connected to Healing House or RezDowntown. The goal of this support group is to create a fellowship in which attendees can anonymously share experiences, strength and hope, and with God, come to a place of peace. Please reach out to Rosemary.Arroyo@cor.org with questions!
