MERCY – A Call to Prayer from the Resident Bishop & MESSAGE – Special Announcements of the Los Angeles Episcopacy of the California Pacific Conference – Friday, 10 January 2014
Brothers and Sisters,
Let us keep in prayer Tonga as Cyclone Ian reaches the islands.
I am reaching out to the leader of The Free Wesleyan Church of Tonga so that they are aware that we are praying for them as United Methodists.
Let us also care for our brothers and sisters across the California-Pacific Annual Conference who are worrying about friends and family currently in Tonga.
Peace,
Bishop Minerva G. Carcaño

The Next Step
On Epiphany Sunday, churches across our California-Pacific Annual Conference shared in a time of visioning as one of the steps in discerning God’s will for our conference at this time in our life together. The next step in our process is District Visioning Events that will include a brief Bible study by Bishop Carcaño, face-to-face conversations and dialogue, and time to join together in prayer.
Each District gathering will provide an opportunity for Cal-Pac clergy and laity to engage together as we move toward articulating a vision for the conference. The goal of the Mission / Vision Discernment Team is to provide a draft statement of the vision at the District Conferences in early May for further reflection and revision before presenting it to the Annual Conference in June.
