Kansas City First Church of the Nazarene E-News for Friday, 25 July 2014 & Church Prayer Updates
Kansas City First Church of the Nazarene: Upcoming Events

Welcome to the KCFC Staff!
With the church board's approval, I am pleased to announce that Anne Hardy and Dean Blevins will "officially" begin serving as a part of the First Church ministry staff on August 1. Each of them will pick up a portion of the responsibilities that Pastor Neil MacPherson has been covering prior to his retirement. Anne will serve as "Pastor of Congregational Care"  and will coordinate our ministry to those who are facing health crises or recovering from them. Also, Anne will lead and facilitate our ministry to the homebound and those with long-term care issues as well as following her heart and the Lord's leading as we discover together new ways to "carry each other's burdens."
Dean will serve as "Pastor of Discipleship." While continuing to teach at NTS, Dean will give a portion of his time to coordinating the work of discipleship across the life of KCFC. He will help to lead the "Discipleship Way team" and facilitate opportunities for the people of First Church to grow and be shaped more closely to the image and example of Jesus through small group studies and living life together at the intersection of the Scriptures, home, work, and the community.
Due to travel schedules and other factors, announcement of these decisions will be made in our worship services over the coming weeks. Please take your own opportunity to welcome Pastor Anne and Pastor Dean to these new roles.
Grace and peace,
Pastor Estep

Leftover items will be given to another great cause--Crisis Care Kits that our church has been a part of assembling over the last year. Contact Margie Schwarz or Pastor Roland for more information!
