News & Events
Nepal Response
In response to the recent earthquakes that have struck Nepal, Nazarene Compassionate Ministries is partnering with the local church in Nepal to meet the most critical short-term needs of families in need: water, food, and shelter. We have the opportunity to join with our brothers and sisters around the world in praying for grieving families, for vulnerable children and families, for those responding to the disaster, and for our church leaders and members in Nepal. Annual Local Church Elections
Historically, our church/fiscal year has ended on June 30. As of this year it will end on May 31.
This Sunday, all church members 15 years and older are invited to vote in our election. Ballots will be available at the East end of the sanctuary foyer. Please contact the church office if you have any questions.
Caring for the Caregiver
Are you or someone you know a full-time caregiver? Caring for the Caregiver, "a journey of shared grace with those who give care", will be offered as a 6-week pilot study beginningthis Sunday, May 17. The group will meet from4:30pm-5:45pm in Room 158 and be facilitated by Chaplain Rev. Windy Lovett. If you would be interested in joining this group, please contact Rev. Lovett at wglovett@hotmail.com.
Women's Activities
Emily Neeld has agreed to help plan & coordinate some of our women's activities. She is also forming a new women's activities committee, which will be in place to offer support and new ideas, while building community and relationships among the women of our congregation. If you are a lady of any age, please stop by the table in the foyer to fill our a short interest sheet. Also, if you are leading a current activity that could be supported by this committee, please let Emily know ateneeld@att.net.
Senior Panel
On Sunday, May 24, our youth group will be hosting a potluck lunch in the youth room for all high school seniors and their families. During the lunch, a panel will discuss what to expect during life after high school. Please bring one main dish per family. RSVP to Pastor Roland (rtedder@kcfc.org) by this Sunday.
Ultimate Frisbee Tournament
Our church will be hosting a district-wide ultimate frisbee tournament on
Saturday, May 23, from 10am-3pm. Cost is $40/team (7 players per
team). This tournament is open to all--expect a
high level of competition.

GriefShare
Are you or someone you know experiencing grief after the death of a loved one? Help is available! Our church offers 2 weekly sessions of GriefShare: a men's only group on Wednesday nights and a session open to all on Saturdaymornings.
Sessions are comprised of video seminars, workbook exercises, and small group discussion. This Bible-based, Christ-centered group is open to all KCFC attenders, and the Kansas City community.

Jesus Film Trip to Africa
Travel with Jesus Film Harvest Partners (JFHP) to see the Jesus Film Ministry in action on the field in Malawi, Africa. Experience evangelism on the field, interact with local Christian leaders, attend viewings of the Jesus Film in various villages, and see firsthand what God is doing through the film. A JFHP team will be making the trip to Malawi in early November to deliver equipment. A two-day safari will be included in the trip. Estimated cost is $3000-$3500 per person.
