Once again the Annual Conference is looking for storytellers who will share VIDEO or WRITTEN stories about mentoring and the meeting theme, “Next Generations,” to publish in its weekly feature “Telling Our Stories.”
We want church members to share stories about what they are doing to mentor someone, older or younger. Stories can be about mentoring the folks in a basketball league, the spiritual mentoring opportunity in being a Little League parent, a long-standing one-on-one friendship, in outreach efforts or in work relationships. A lot of mentoring occurs outside typical church settings, and those powerful, inspiring stories often remain unseen.
Storytelling Guidelines
Length: 400-700 words
Videos are welcomed! Please, no more than 5 minutes.
Focus on how you or someone you know has experienced the benefits of mentoring or being mentored, or on how someone you know invests in others as a mentor.
Questions for a jump start, if needed:
When have you been mentored by someone who helped you grow spiritually?
When have you invested in mentoring someone and why?
Tell the story about someone you know who has mentored several people or who you believe that their calling is to mentor.
