To: Those who, through the righteousness of our God and of our Deliverer Yeshua the Messiah, have been given the same kind of trust as ours:
2 May grace and shalom be yours in full measure, as you come to a full knowledge of God and Yeshua our Lord.
3 God’s power has given us everything we need for life and godliness, through our knowing the One who called us to his own glory and goodness. 4 By these he has given us valuable and superlatively great promises, so that through them you might come to share in God’s nature and escape the corruption which evil desires have brought into the world.
5 For this very reason, try your hardest to furnish your faith with goodness, goodness with knowledge, 6 knowledge with self-control, self-control with perseverance, perseverance with godliness, 7 godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. 8 For if you have these qualities in abundance, they keep you from being barren and unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah. 9 Indeed, whoever lacks them is blind, so shortsighted that he forgets that his past sins have been washed away. 10 Therefore, brothers, try even harder to make your being called and chosen a certainty. For if you keep doing this, you will never stumble.
RG AUDIO 051715"Safe In The Arms of Jesus" by Author: Juanita Weir Nobles
There are many scriptures that lead us to think about how God quenches our thirst, eases our fears, satisfies all our needs, and makes us new. 2 Peter 1:3 reminds us that because of Jesus’ sacrifice, we have already received all we need to live a godly life.
Some Christians think they have to follow every rule and keep every law on their own. They hope to satisfy God in their own strength. Yet Peter tells us, “His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life.” The legalism we put on ourselves is unnecessary, because of God’s provision through Jesus.
Lean back and relax; God has given you joy and freedom. Don’t fret over your schedule; give it to Jesus. He wants us to have life—abundant life—the most joyous part of being a Christian. We need not try to do everything in our own strength. Let Him give you abundant life. Trust in Him and don’t try to lean on your own abilities. Accept His abundant gift.
Hymn For Today: "Safe in the arms of Jesus" by Author: Fanny Crosby (1868)
1. Safe in the arms of Jesus,
Safe on His gentle breast,
There by His love o’ershaded,
Sweetly my soul shall rest.
Hark! ’tis the voice of angels
Borne in a song to me,
Over the fields of glory,
Over the jasper sea.
Chorus:
Safe in the arms of Jesus,
Safe on His gentle breast,
There by His love o’ershaded,
Sweetly my soul shall rest.
2. Safe in the arms of Jesus,
Safe from corroding care,
Safe from the world’s temptations,
Sin cannot harm me there.
Free from the blight of sorrow,
Free from my doubts and fears;
Only a few more trials,
Only a few more tears!
Chorus:
Safe in the arms of Jesus,
Safe on His gentle breast,
There by His love o’ershaded,
Sweetly my soul shall rest.
3. Jesus, my heart’s dear refuge,
Jesus has died for me;
Firm on the Rock of Ages,
Ever my trust shall be.
Here let me wait with patience,
Wait till the night is o’er;
Wait till I see the morning
Break on the golden shore.
Chorus:
Safe in the arms of Jesus,
Safe on His gentle breast,
There by His love o’ershaded,
Sweetly my soul shall rest.
