The Hearts of Christianity Sunday School Class from The First United Methodist Church of San Diego, California, United States for Wednesday, 3 June 2015
Dear Hearts, Let's consider the following:
1. How does one develop character? Is suffering required?
2. Dorothy Day has been called "America's Mother Teresa;" it has been suggested that she be designated a saint. What has she done to deserve that title?
3. How would you describe Dorothy Day's mental health?
4. What drew Dorothy Day back to the church?
5. David Brooks seems to be holding up qualities of living which were much simpler than those which challenge us. Can we go back to that time and live that way?
5.What was the quality of your family life when you were growing up? Was your family affectionate, hand-holding, fresh and spontaneous? What books did you read as a teen ager?
6. What did you do for entertainment when you were a child? I'm looking forward to our discussion and interested to hear your reaction to Dorothy Day.
See you Sunday. We'll be back up in Linder 4. ____________________________
