Chabad for Thursday, September 24, 2015 - ♫ 9 days to celebrate ♪
This Sunday evening (September 27), Jews throughout the world will begin the nine-day-long "festival of our joy," encompassing the festivals of Sukkot and Simchat Torah. We sit in the sukkah to celebrate the warm embrace of G-d's love and care for us, take the four kinds to celebrate our unity as a people, and participate in the nightly simchat beit hashoevah festivities celebrating the power of song and dance — to transform ourselves and our world for the better. This year's celebration takes on additional significance due to the Jewish year of Hakhel.
