Annually Young Adults (ages 18-35) spend time in community with one another to discuss and deliberate on issues of faith while spending a weekend away from stress and distractions. This is a place where you can:
Share openly without judgment.
Participate without having to plan.
Be fed spiritually.
Live and play in fellowship.
Connect with other Young Adults of faith.
Be challenged in their spiritual growth.
Take some time away.
We’ll explore what spirituality is and why it’s important, what keeps us from connecting spiritually and what we’re already spiritually doing as well as ideas for connecting with God day-to-day. Basic Course provides the foundation for all Lay Servants. This will encourage you to recognize and employ personal spiritual gifts. Each candidate must secure the approval of their charge Conference and complete this course.
Advanced Course: “Living Out Our United Methodist Beliefs (Heritage)”. This will explore the special gifts of theology, witness, and organization that the United Methodist Church brings to the church universal and how these emphases are still needed in the 21st century church.

Begun in England in 2004, Messy Church is for families who find it hard to go to church on a Sunday.
A typical monthly gathering meets for two-hour at a time that works in the community and includes sports/crafts, a short celebration, and a meal. Messy Church provides an opportunity for people of all ages to worship together in a fun and creative way.

12th National Gathering of United Methodist Men - In 1913, thousands of Methodist men gathered in Indianapolis for a national meeting, and in 2017, United Methodist Men will return to that city for a similar gathering. The theme of the event will be “Discipleship––The Contact Sport” in July 2017.

Thousands of Methodist men gather in front of the Indiana State Soldiers and Sailors Monument for a 1913 national gathering. Built between 1888 and 1901, the monument honors Indiana veterans who served in earlier wars.

In 1913, thousands of Methodist men gathered in Indianapolis for a national meeting, and in 2017, United Methodist Men will return to that city for a similar gathering.
Featured speakers for the July meeting include: Mississippi Area Bishop James Swanson, president of the General Commission on United Methodist Men; South Carolina Bishop Jonathan Holston; Shan Foster, national director of MEND, a YWCA program combatting domestic violence; and Dr. Kevin Watson, assistant professor of Methodist and Wesleyan Studies at Candler School of Theology.
The theme of the event will be “Discipleship––The Contact Sport.” Sessions will be held in St. Luke’s UMC, located 26 miles north of the Indianapolis Airport. Several motels and hotels are located nearby.
This is the 12th quadrennial national conference since the first UM Men gathering in 1969. In 1973 there was a laity gathering but no men’s gathering. The first nine events were held at Purdue University; the last two conferences were held in Nashville. This will be the first event in Indianapolis since the creation of the UMC in 1968.

Since the 1970’s, the Cal-Pac Hunger Grant has been resourcing churches in feeding those in need in their community.
Any local church with a feeding program is eligible to apply. All applications are due by December 1, 2016.
