What does grace really mean? Our culture has a poor concept of grace as a lived reality. In our broken system, all acceptance is conditional, all love is performance based. Identity is given by the sum of what we strive to be, or what we appear to be. Even within the community of the church, we at times participate in this brokenness.
Perhaps it’s time we reclaimed grace.

Third Wave 2019 is a global leadership conference designed for emerging youth leaders in the Church of the Nazarene, who are between the ages of 16 and 29. This time it will be held in India and the Southwest Field is allowed to take 4 participants other than the coordinator and field chair. If you're interested in applying for one of the 4 Southwest Field NYI slots, click here.

Quizzing is a unique and exciting ministry for youth that combines Bible study, mentoring, competition, fellowship, discipleship, and mission.
Registration is open for the 2018 national quizzing competition at MidAmerica Nazarene University.

The Southwest Field NYI and Point Loma Nazarene University have partnered together to provide a very special retreat for Pastors' Kids (PK's) who are between the grades of 7 and 12. Our goal is to have lots of fun, build strong relationships and provide a safe place for PK's to connect on issues that matter to them.

Nazarene Youth Conference (NYC) is a vibrant, life-changing youth event held every four years in different locations across the United States and Canada. High School students from all around North America belonging to the Church of the Nazarene gather together in a time of worship, teaching, and community outreach, united by a common belief in Jesus Christ.

- Meet Josh Johnson -
Josh is the new LANYI Co-President
Pastor Josh Johnson graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University in 2006 with a BA in Philosophy and from the Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City in 2011 with a Masters of Divinity in 2011. Pastor Josh teaches and preaches with energy and passion. Josh and Courtney have a 2 year old girl named Gracie. They are energetic and share a contagious attitude toward reaching others for Christ. Pastor Josh is from Southern California and values the friendships that they have made. Courtney and Josh have been in ministry together for almost 12 years as both a Senior Pastor and Youth Pastors prior to moving to Newhall, CA where Josh currently is serving as the Senior Pastor. Courtney is a Special Ed teacher in Saugus School District. Josh Johnson became the LANYI Co-President in June 2017. He and Tim Olson are excited about bringing unity and creating a team of leaders that will help dream and cast vision for the LA District NYI.

Q: Who is your Hero?
A: My hero is my dad who always works so hard in life, believes in people, and leads by example.
Q: What are your Hobbies?
A: Working on my 1969 Ford 250, working on my House, watching ESPN, reading leadership development books, and hanging with my family and friends!
Q: If I was an animal, what would I be and why?
A: Eagle, due to that fact that it can fly.
Q: If you had to describe yourself using three words, it would be?
A: Energetic, Spontaneous, Creative
