"God's Standard" for Monday, 2 April 2018 - goTandem

"God's Standard" for Monday, 2 April 2018 - goTandem
"God's Standard"For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard. Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty of our sins. (Romans 3:23-24)
What is God's glorious standard?
How does remembering God's kindness to you help you relate to the people in your life?

"Direct Line"

"At that time you won't need to ask me for anything. I tell you the truth, you will ask the Father directly, and he will grant your request because you use my name. You haven't done this before. Ask, using my name, and you will receive, and you will have abundant joy." (John 16:23-24)
Being able to ask God directly and not having to go through a priest was unheard of before Jesus said this. What does this verse say about how we can talk to God?
Would you say that joy is part of your prayer life? Explain.
