Deaf Devo - The Deaf Missions in Council Bluffs, Iowa, United States for Thursday, 20 July 2017 "Minor Prophets (13)" Bible Reading: Malachi 3:10-12
Malachi 3:10 “See if I won’t open for you the floodgates of heaven and pour out for you a blessing far beyond your needs. 11 For your sakes I will forbid the devourer to destroy the yield from your soil; and your vine will not lose its fruit before harvest-time,” says Adonai-Tzva’ot. 12 “All nations will call you happy, for you will be a land of delights,”says Adonai-Tzva’ot.

I watched a father with his child at a swimming pool. The father stood in the pool and urged the child to jump into the water. The father assured his child that he would catch him and he would be safe. We can have that same kind of experience with God. God says that He will provide for us. There are many examples in the Bible of God taking care of His people. But often we are afraid to trust God. We try to do things by ourselves instead of depending on Him.
In our Bible Reading today, God challenges us to test Him as a provider. In verse 10b God says, "Test me! If you do these things, I will surely bless you." God is like the parent in the pool, and we are like the child who wants to jump in. God wants us to trust Him. When we trust Him, He will take care of us and give us many blessings.
I challenge you to trust God with your money. Financially support your local church or a mission organization. God will provide for you and bless you.
"And God can give you more blessings than you need, and you will always have plenty of everything. You will have enough to give to every good work." 2 Corinthians 9:8
PRAYER: God, I want to trust You more! In Jesus' name. Amen.
