but if I lack love, I have become merely
blaring brass or a cymbal clanging.
2 I may have the gift of prophecy,
I may fathom all mysteries, know all things,
have all faith — enough to move mountains;
but if I lack love, I am nothing.
3 I may give away everything that I own,
I may even hand over my body to be burned;
but if I lack love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient and kind, not jealous, not boastful,
5 not proud, rude or selfish, not easily angered,
and it keeps no record of wrongs.
6 Love does not gloat over other people’s sins
but takes its delight in the truth.
7 Love always bears up, always trusts,
always hopes, always endures.
8 Love never ends; but prophecies will pass,
tongues will cease, knowledge will pass.
9 For our knowledge is partial, and our prophecy partial;
10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass
11 When I was a child, I spoke like a child,
thought like a child, argued like a child;
now that I have become a man,
I have finished with childish ways.
12 For now we see obscurely in a mirror,
but then it will be face to face.
Now I know partly; then I will know fully,
just as God has fully known me.
13 But for now, three things last —
trust, hope, love;
and the greatest of these is love.
-------To remain true to the faith is to grow in God’s abundant love. Love becomes more than a command, emotion, feeling, or ideal. Romantic notions cannot compare to this love that is beyond measure and prompts noble character.
Love equates to lifestyle for Christ followers. It is the most life-giving fruit of the spirit. It sets us apart and attracts the unbeliever. Who can help but succumb to a loving touch, word, embrace, or selfless act? We are surrounded by individuals desperately “looking for love in all the wronlaces.” I remember my own longings for someone to look beyond actions and circumstances, to truly see my heart. Discovering that Jesus knew everything about me and still loved me was my Damascus moment. I surrendered my control and He filled me with so much love that I couldn’t help but share it - it flowed from every pore of by being!
Everyone needs to be loved and heard. We all want someone to look beyond our actions and appearances; to see our heart. Have you been filled with the fullness of God’s love? When you are, it becomes as natural as breathing to love God and love your neighbor.
"Lord, Lay Some Soul upon My Heart" by Leon Tucker
1. Lord, lay some soul upon my heart
And love that soul thro' me;
And may I always do my part
To win that soul for Thee.
Thought for Today:
Won’t you revive us again,
so your people can rejoice in you?
8 Show us your grace, Adonai;
grant us your salvation(Psalm 85:7).
Please pray:
"That many people in Niger will come to know Yeshua the Messiah and receive the fullness of the Ruach HaKodesh.
