E~Note from Water’s Edge Worship at First United Methodist Church ~ San Diego ~ Sunday, 27 October 2013 ~ “Hopes and Visions . . .”

Hopes and visions...
We begin our Stewardship Campaign this Sunday and for the next four weeks, we will be looking at the spiritual discipline of giving. For some, this can be an uneasy topic as we talk about giving, we have to deal with money. But Jesus taught on this topic more than any other, and it is crucial that we understand that the practice of giving is directly tied to our spiritual growth.
When we give out of compulsion or without much thought put into it, there is not much joy that comes from the generous act of giving. Giving has to be done intentionally, with planning and thought.
Be with us as we deepen our understanding of why we give and how we should give. Through the next four weeks, we will come to know the joy of truly giving out of our hopes and vision for the future.
Blessings,
Pastor Elbert
