EXPOSED - Join the Global Call to End Corruption for Thursday, 1 MAY 2014
Time to shine the light on Australia
Can you believe it's May? There's only 6 months until we do our final handover of signatures to the G20.Today, as Australia prepares to host 20 of the most powerful leaders, we're partnering with Micah Challenge Australia as they launch Shine the Light - a visual reminder to the Australian government that we're asking them to take the lead in ensuring global progress on transparency. Let's show Australian leaders that thousands of us around the world are backing a fairer world for the poor.
>> Take the newly launched Shine the Light Selfie photo action.
You've already signed the petition and sending your image to influential leaders is a powerful way of amplifying your voice.
And the time is right! The Uniting Church received a letter last week from Australia's Treasury, expressing support for new measures to make tax dodging more difficult. This is good news.
>> We need to continue to raise our voice in new and creative ways to ensure policy is turned into action.
Here's how the Shine the Light Selfie works...
1) Grab a camera and take a photo of yourself shining a light on your face (or ask a friend to take the photo).
2) Upload your 'Selfie’ onto the website to show Australia your support for shining a light on corruption. Make it your Facebook and Twitter profile picture!
Happy campaigning,
The EXPOSED Team
P.S. If you're part of a youth group, why not get them involved? Find two free meeting plans here.
