New GCU Nursing College Dean Comes Full Circle
The new dean of GCU's College of Nursing and Health Care Professions has four degrees and an impressive 20-year nursing career. But there is something more to Dr. Melanie D. Logue: She is GCU. GCU Alumna Dr. Erica Wadas, a resident physician at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, credits GCU for her admission into medical school. Originally a pre-nursing major, Dr. Wadas switched to medicine and earned her biology degree from GCU. She's now pursuing internal medicine with the goal to become a primary care physician. A Year to Remember: GCU's Top 10 Stories of 2014-15
GCU welcomed a record 6,200 students in 2014-15, bringing total ground enrollment to more than 10,600 students. The university built three dorms, a new classroom building, more campus eateries and a second parking garage. Over the summer, food outlets and eating areas along Lopes Way, a new soccer stadium next to Antelope Gym, a four-story office building in a central location and a student entertainment center in Thunder Alley are scheduled to be built. By the end of 2015, GCU will have grown from 900 to 15,000 students and from 100 to 240 acres in just seven years. Read more about the expansion here.

Dr. Michael Baird of the College of Theology is retiring after 36 years with Grand Canyon University. As the longest-tenured employee at GCU, Dr. Baird is also a scholar, beacon of light and representation of the high standards in the College of Theology.
