Monthly Fellowship:
November
Last month's speaker was Susan Johnson, from C.A.T. (Churches Against Trafficking) and The Alabaster Jar Project.
Susan talked about how they have been working with law enforcement and existing shelters to help people break free and find a way forward.
They have lots of exciting news and will be opening a home in early 2016. Visit their website to learn more about how you can be involved.

If you're able to help with the final push, click here, to bring clean showers to the homeless community.
The mobile shower unit will also need: Locations to set up, a truck to move the unit, ongoing funds for supplies, and we are helping with a towel drive. Contact Karen Mejia with your towels or Bruce Menser with questions about making a financial donation.

Volunteer Opportunities
Project Homeless Connect. On Jan 27th, we will be staffing a booth at this event. We are looking for folks to take a two-hour shift and spread the word about SDDF. In conjunction with this event, we will be helping the Church of Rancho Bernardo to assemble and distribute 1200 hygiene kits. More information to follow. If interested, contact Mark Maliepaard.
Companionship Program. We are looking for people who will befriend those who are graduating out of the Connections Housing program into more permanent housing in the community. We partner with PATH and UPLIFT to help people truly thrive as they enter the community. Contact Mark Maliepaard.
Are you an accountant? We want you on our board of directors! Contact Mel Ely.
Not a CPA, but still like to count? We have ongoing need for volunteers to ride along and verify the monthly count with our partnerships with Downtown Partnership Clean and Safe and the Regional Task Force on the Homeless has an annual count coming up. Contact Ben Montoya, if you're interested in participating.
Interfaith Shelter Network. The Network hosts a small group of homeless people at rotating church locations throughout the city. If your church can be a location, they are looking to fill some gaps in the calendar coming up this winter. Contact Ben Montoya to coordinate a volunteer shift.
