The 2015-16 Musical Adventures with the Poppy Seed Players celebrate Hanukkah and Purim with joyful original musicals for families that re-imagine the familiar Biblical stories. In “Judy & the Maccabees,” a feisty young girl runs away to join a fight for religious freedom. Discover the Purim story you didn’t know at “VASHTI! The Musial,” a fresh, funny story about Esther’s predecessor, the banished Queen Vashti. The new season also includes a musical version of “Sunshine” by Ludwig Bemelmans, the beloved author of the children’s book “Madeline.”
The Poppy Seed Players are joined by the Kaufman Kids, a troupe of young performers from Kaufman Center’s Lucy Moses School and Special Music School. For ages 4-11.
