Pastor Penny Ellwood's eNote for Friday, 23 December 2016 from The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection Blue Springs of Blue Springs, Missouri, United States
Friday, December 23, 2016
Greetings Resurrection Blue Springs,
We’re in the final countdown to Christmas! I visited three of our precious new babies from the congregation this week and of course, I'm counting the hours til we get our hands on our new granddaughter Christmas day. These babies make my anticipation of welcoming the Christ child all the greater this year. One of my favorite moments each year is when we bring in the light of Christ during the Candlelight Christmas eve service and pass the light. I know many of you treasure this moment with your families and friends too, so I thought I'd share with you our Candlelight Christmas Eve service times in addition to our upcoming holiday worship schedule for Christmas and New Years! I am so looking forward to seeing you and I pray that you'll invite your friends, neighbors and co-workers to experience the hope, joy, peace and love of this season!
Candlelight Christmas Eve Worship Schedule.
We are thrilled to be offering four Candlelight Christmas Eve Services:
Saturday, December 24th at 3pm, 5pm, 7pm & 9 pm.
On candlelight Christmas Eve we are inviting as many church members who are able and willing to consider worshiping at one of the later services, 7 or 9 pm. This is a great way for you to be able to help us make room for our first time visitors this time of year. Also, we are excited that we have special activity books to hand out to all our children at each service. Our expectation is that our 3pm service will be where a lot of families with young children attend, but please know that children are welcome at every worship service.
Upcoming Sunday Schedule
Worship with us on Christmas Day as Pastor Penny leads us through a Family-Friendly Carol-Sing and worship service at 10:45am.
This service will NOT be the same as the Christmas Eve services so come worship with your community! We will be sharing a few of our recent Holy Land pictures.
Happy New Year Services on January 1st!.
Start your year out right by spending New Year’s Day with us. We will have our regular9am & 10:45 am services. The two services will be family-friendly worship with childcare for kids 4 and under!
