Sign now to call on Donald Trump to embrace a #MoralAgenda from Rev. Dr. William J. Barber II of Groundswell at The Auburn Theological Seminary in New York, New York, United States for Friday, 30 December 2016
Friends,
As Donald Trump prepares to take an oath to preserve, protect, and defend the U.S. Constitution, we are calling on faith leaders and people of moral conscience to join the moral movement, and challenge Mr. Trump to embrace a #MoralAgenda.
Our communities have been fractured since his election by fear, violence, harassment, and intimidation. Equally troubling are his cabinet selections who, if confirmed, would undermine civil rights, take away healthcare from nearly 30 million Americans, and resist living wages, which impact over 60 million Americans, including 54% of all African-Americans.
We need your help. Please sign and share this open letter to Donald Trump, which challenges him to embrace a #MoralAgenda that uplifts our deepest moral values of love, justice, and mercy.
We are also asking Mr. Trump to meet with a group of faith leaders prior to his inauguration, if he desires to hear the voice of our counsel and challenge.
Once you sign, please share on Twitter, Facebook, and through your networks.
We recognize that in order to challenge the extremist policies that are being proposed at the highest levels of government, which hurt the most vulnerable, we must stand up and advance a moral movement in America. We must move beyond the limited language of left versus right politics, if we are going to save the heart and soul of our democracy.
Thank you for all you do in this movement.
Forward Together,
Rev. Dr. William Barber
