The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection Downtown of Kansas City, Missouri, United States "Weekly eNote from Pastor Scott Chrostek" for Friday, September 29, 2017
Greetings RezDowntowners,
Good Morning and I hope you are doing well today. I am fresh off of an amazing night of worship with Glory Revival! What an powerful thing it was to see so many people worshiping and experiencing the life-changing love of God through creative worship. I want to thank our worship team and support teams, including all of our volunteers and staff members who were able to pull off such an extraordinary evening! Also, it's important that you you know that Thursday's worship night was a part of Leadership Institute, which has been going on all week long. LI is an event we host where over 1700 church leaders and pastors gathered together to find hope and renewal in their mission and ministry contexts. I am grateful to serve Christ here with you in Kansas City and I can't wait to see where we're heading into the future.
This week has also been a powerful week in terms of our construction progress. This weekend when you come out to worship you will see a lot more structural steel on site, including the support structure around our sanctuary! Please remember to continue praying for all the workers who are pulling together tirelessly to move our project forward. Remember you can always follow our webcam for progress updates at build.cor.org/downtown and if you want to see our latest construction update with Kelly and I, please visit our facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/RezDowntown/.
This weekend will be a big one starting with our Citywide Pet Blessing at Liberty Memorial on Saturday morning starting at 9am. We'll have coffee, bounce houses, stuffed animals, games and crafts and a whole bunch of pets! I want to invite you to invite your friends to join us on Saturday with this great outreach to the city. Then in worship we will have the privilege of hearing from Rev. Emmanuel Cleaver III, as he shares with us a powerful message across all of our campuses for a very special weekend!
Happy Friday and God's Peace,
Pastor Scott
