The NYU Caregiver Intervention (NYUCI) provides counseling and support to caregivers and their families. This program, studied for many years at NYU, has many proven benefits when offered in person, and is now being evaluated to determine its effectiveness online. If you are living with your spouse or partner with memory loss, Alzheimer's disease, or a related dementia and have at least one family member who could participate via video teleconferencing, you may be eligible for this study. "Advocates are seeking to expand the reach of Rhode Island's 'caregiver insurance program' to workers seeking up to eight weeks of paid time off to care for an ill grandchild or sibling...if the proposed expansion is passed, those who qualify could get a portion (up to 60 percent) of their salary paid by the [Temporary Caregiver Insurance] program for up to six weeks, starting on Jan. 1, 2019, and up to eight weeks, starting on Jan. 1, 2020."
