While you are reading this eNote over 100 kids and volunteers are beginning their last morning of Sports Camp, followed by 300 kids spending their final afternoon at Vacation Bible Camp. It's been an incredible week filled with learnings around Jesus’ parable of the foolish builder, the lost sheep, and seeds sown in good soil. Today’s activities along with crafts, recreation, science, missions, small groups, praise singing, and drama include a visit from the Olathe Fire Department for a huge firehose sprinkler to play in after a shaving cream extravaganza! Oh to be a kid again, right?
They’ve already raised over $1100 in offerings to help build a science lab at the Jaun Wesley School with our friends and partner ministry in Honduras! Way to go kids! A great big thank you goes out to dozens of adult and teen volunteers who poured their heart and smiles out to welcome so many kids in with Jesus’ love. I met many new faces this week who had been invited by a friend to join us. A special RezWest welcome goes out to you! If you don’t have a church home, we’d love to be your church family and this Sunday will be a great day to worship as we conclude the‘Upside Kingdom’ parables series looking at the ‘parables of great responsibility'. It’s a ‘worship together Sunday’ where we welcome all kids into worship with us(nursery provided at all four services for 6 months - Pre-K) at all four services; 8am, 9:30am, 11am, & 5pm. It will be my privilege to preach live along with a children’s message by Christie Walker, uplifting music by our worship team, and an opportunity to vote for your favorite family movie you wish to see at the upcoming family movie night on July 14th! Invite a friend!
We have our three kingdom parties to be sponsored in memory of Scarlett Thompson - and even more that you’ve shared you’ll be hosting soon! I look forward to sharing some about the visions of the parties on Sunday.
The 8th-12th grade mission trip to Colorado returned last week after a great week of service and the 5th-7th grade team (29 in all) is in preparation to serve in downtown KC in a couple of weeks, with their parent informational meeting just last night. I’m so proud to serve a church where so may kids and teens care about others by living out Jesus’ command to love your neighbor. May we be inspired and follow their example!

- Session Topic: The 100 Most Important Bible Verses for Women by Lila Empson, facilitated by Diane Robertson. The 100 Most Important Bible Verses for Women helps today's women, who are often over-stretched and frazzled, learn the life-giving principles of scripture that are directly applicable to their lives as women. Women of all ages – whether they've studied the Bible for years or they've studied it at all – will love this!
KiDSCOR is calling - Summertime in KiDSCOR means regular volunteers take a break and others dive in for some fun. Many places are still available and in need of volunteers to allow our rooms to stay open in welcoming our many young friends. Preschool Play Date “All Things Water” – Wednesday, July 12, 10-11 am at RezWest. Playtime in the water is for children ages
2-5 years old.
Movie Night on July 14th at 6:30pm. We will vote on the movie this Sunday, July 2nd, announcing the winning movie on July 9th. So save the date for a family-friendly movie night.
Back to School Mega Mission on Saturday, Aug. 5. Meet at 9 am in the Resurrection West Sanctuary for prayer, project sign-ups, final instructions, coffee and breakfast snacks. Then, we’ll pack up the supplies and travel to Ridgeview Elementary to sort and organize school supplies, prepare classrooms, make crafts to welcome and support teachers, write encouraging notes to students and help with maintenance and beautifying the grounds. Please bring gardening gloves, yard tools, rakes, shovels and wheelbarrows if you have them. About 11:30 am, we’ll host and enjoy a Celebration Picnic alongside the students and families of the Ridgeview community complete with water play and fun for all ages! We should be all done and cleaned up by 1:30 pm. No sign-ups are necessary. Just come out and serve. Also, feel free to wear any year’s MEGA MISSION t-shirt (extras will be available). RezWest Lake Worship Event on August 6th. On that afternoon we will gather together at Kill Creek Park beach for some swim time fun, followed by worship on the beach (we will move our evening service to the beach that Sunday after wim time - starting at 6pm) and share in a moving baptism service together. We already have a few registered to be baptized in Kill Creek lake and maybe you, or members of your family, are also ready to receive baptism. You can pre-register for baptism by going tocor.org/west/baptisms. When you are completing the online form and it comes to the date and service time request, simply write in ‘August 6th lake baptism’. This will certainly be a memorable and exciting night together and a great night to invite a friend!
Back to School Blessing – Sunday, August 13 during worship. Our next Worship Together Sunday we will be celebrating and praying for the beginning of the school year with a special blessing over all of our children and teens as they begin the new school year.
