The Autism Speaks Walk is the world’s largest fundraising event powered by love. When we talk about what love means to us, we come up with words like support, commitment, community, and connection. And when we recently asked a parent to share what this walk and this organization mean to her, we quickly realized that she, too, was talking about love:
“When you feel like there is nobody else to turn to, you can turn to Autism Speaks.”
With that one sentence, Selda, who turned to us when her son Brayden was diagnosed at an early age, described the kind of love that we hope we are fostering within our community. The kind of love where you know you are never alone. But we can’t take credit for that love. That love exists in the Autism Speaks community because of you.
