Romans 12:1 I exhort you, therefore, brothers, in view of God’s mercies, to offer yourselves as a sacrifice, living and set apart for God. This will please him; it is the logical “Temple worship” for you. 2 In other words, do not let yourselves be conformed to the standards of the ‘olam hazeh. Instead, keep letting yourselves be transformed by the renewing of your minds; so that you will know what God wants and will agree that what he wants is good, satisfying and able to succeed.-------
Today and for the next few days, we will talk about the different parts of our head. We will learn what the Bible says about these parts.
The first part we will learn about is the mind. This is the part of our body where we think, feel and make decisions. The book of Romans talks about the mind in several different ways - thinking about sinful things, our deepest thoughts, thinking about other people and our belief in God.
In our Bible Reading, Paul says, "...let God change you inside with a new way of thinking" (verse 2b). What is this new way of thinking? It is thinking differently than the world thinks. A new way of thinking means dedicating our minds to God. Then He will help us resist temptation, think about His Word and do things that please Him.
Ask God to change you and help you have a new way of thinking. Focus on Him and His Word, the Bible, today.
"Then you will be able to decide and accept what God wants for you. You will be able to know what is good and pleasing to him and what is perfect." [Romans 12:2b]
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I want to love and serve You with all my heart, all my soul and all my mind. In Jesus' name. Amen.
