Resurrection Blue Springs,
Hello on this Friday morning! I hope everyone had a great week and enjoyed their celebration of Independence Day. After having lived in cities where fireworks weren’t allowed for so many years, I am still amazed and delighted to be able to watch all the displays that go off around us. I guess I’m still a child at heart. I couldn’t wait to light a sparkler and write my name in the air. It brings back such great memories of being a child and spending time with family.
This morning I want to encourage you to make it a priority to be in worship this Sunday. Pastor Adam will be returning to the pulpit to speak about Christianity and suicide in a message entitled, Like a Broken Vessel. Sadly, over the last month and a half we have lost six people to suicide, across all of our campuses. Pastor Adam will be preaching and teaching through this issue as we explore the heart of God and how Scriptures might guide us through those times of darkness and despair that we sometimes experience in life. There will also be a panel discussion on Suicide Prevention and a special 2-week Grief Support group for those who have lost someone to suicide. See additional information below.
Please consider who you know that might benefit from a powerful message of hope and extend an invitation to join us for worship. We would love to welcome them as we explore this issue as people of faith. Plan to come back later and join us on Sunday evening for our showing of Beauty and the Beast in preparation for our next sermon series, The Gospel in Film. We'll be showing the movie in the sanctuary and have popcorn and snacks available.
Also Parents, if you haven’t already done so, don’t forget to sign your children up for our S.T.E.A.M. Mini camp on July 14 & 15. I hear that we have a special “Mad” Scientist coming to do a fire and ice demonstration and the Zoo mobile will be making a visit. Kids will be discovering their own gifts of creativity and imagination inherited from our amazing God. Sign up by Wednesday so that we have enough supplies on hand for everyone.
Be sure to check out the other upcoming opportunities to serve, grow and connect with our community below. . . .
