Hi RezDowntowners, I hope you are doing well this Friday morning and that your week has been full of signs and glimpses of God's presence! I am fortunate to have spent some time this week celebrating the fourth of July with my family in Suttons Bay, MI. It has been great to see Freddy interact with his cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents. I am thankful for some time away after a long stretch of preaching and speaking. This weekend in worship we are shifting gears away from the stories Jesus told that changed the world onto a very important topic of suicide and how the Bible speaks to it with a message of hope. Our Senior Pastor Adam Hamilton will be back in the pulpit leading us in worship and preaching a message entitled, Like a Broken Vessel. This will be a very powerful message of hope for our community and specifically for anyone who has struggled with the darkness of despair or depression and for those who have had cared for those who have. My hope is that you have taken some time this week to intentionally invite some of your friends, family members or even coworkers to join us as we gather together to remember the hope of the Jesus Christ. My prayer is that God will use you this weekend to change lives and transform the community! This weekend we'll also have a chance to commission our team heading to Malawi this July in mission work. This trip will surely be life-changing.
In addition to worship, I wanted to share with you this week that we have uploaded a 24-hour webcam that is filming our construction project, feel free to check in on our progress as yoru time permits, you'll find a link to our livestream in addition to lots of other information about our new church building at build.cor.org/downtown.
Lastly, I wanted to share with you what a privilege it was to be able to preach over the past month. I am grateful for the opportunity to preach, but I have missed seeing you live and in person. I have enjoyed seeing some of you, who decided to drop in at the Leawood Campus to say, 'Hi,' but I'm really looking forward to seeing you all back downtown! I hope you have a great Friday and I'm so thankful to be on this journey with you in the heart of the city!
In the meantime, you'll find a variety of ways below to get connected over the next several weeks. Be sure to take a look...
