Sunday's session: Pastor Jason Q&A
Christmas at COR: 5 RezChat tickets left
Donuts & Cafe: Gary and Bette Tranbarger
Sunday's session:
A date with Pastor Jason
I'll be emceeing our Q&A with Pastor Jason on Sunday.
This session concludes our 3-week series called "Church World."
We submitted questions ahead of time for Jason. He gets to pick which ones he'd like to answer. But I think he'll allow some follow up questions.
Here's an email I got from him earlier this week about the session:
These are great questions. I am looking forward to spending time with the group. I will be opening the 9am service with the welcome/prayer then head down. I will also need to leave a few minutes before 10:15am to close the worship service upstairs. Chris Monson, coordinating assistant, will come down to pull me out at the last minute. If I'm counting right, yours will be the 16th group I've met with. It's been an absolute blast spending time with our smaller groups. I really appreciate you taking the time to compile these questions. See you Sunday morning!
We'll save him a spot at the head of the table, so he can eyeball everyone.
But first, we'll read aloud this Bible passage:
And now, friends, we ask you to honor those leaders who work so hard for you, who have been given the responsibility of urging and guiding you along in your obedience. Overwhelm them with appreciation and love!
Get along among yourselves, each of you doing your part. Our counsel is that you warn the freeloaders to get a move on. Gently encourage the stragglers, and reach out for the exhausted, pulling them to their feet. Be patient with each person, attentive to individual needs. And be careful that when you get on each other’s nerves you don’t snap at each other. Look for the best in each other, and always do your best to bring it out. (1 Thessalonians 5:12-15, The Message).
Personal notes:
1. If you'd like to see Terry Bahadur reading Scripture at my daughter's wedding, Barbara Edwards' daughter singing, and me "dancing" with my mother and my daughter, here's the link to about a 9-minute video. It's a bit longer than one I posted a few days after the wedding. http://youtu.be/gIzz8ls7GTM
You may not be able to see it on mobile devices. YouTube sometimes blocks those for some reason that makes no sense to me.
2. Please keep praying about the situation regarding Linda's mom. As British General Montgomery must have said when pitted against Rommel's tanks in North Africa: tough road ahead.
