Kansas City, Missouri, United States - The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection Downtown with Pastor Scott Chrostek for Friday, 2 May 2014
Greetings RezDowntowners,
What a beautiful afternoon it is in Kansas City! I’m sitting here in a coffee shop after having run a little over 7 miles throughout the city. Being downtown in the beautiful weather has got me really excited for the weekend ahead as it is by all means shaping up to be perfect. This Saturday night, Pastor Adam will be kicking off a new sermon series entitled, Will the Real Noah Please Stand Up?! For three weeks we’re going to be taking a look at this foundational story from the Old Testament filled with God’s promises. I’m really looking forward to it and I hope you are too. Please be sure to invite friends to join you as we start this journey together.
This weekend we’ll also be hosting a Coffee With the Pastors on Sunday at 1:30pm. Coffee with the Pastor is a great way to learn more about Resurrection Downtown, its Pastors and what it means to become a member of this church. I hope you’ll consider joining Pastor Todd and I this Sunday to learn more about this church.
Finally, I wanted to share what an absolute joy it is to be serving alongside of you in this city. This past weekend we kicked off several new community groups. The Young and [un]Profressionals began a study called ‘Christian.’ The RezMen began a new study by Tony Dungee called ‘Quiet Strength.’ And we launched a Christian Improv class as well. All three groups were well attended and Christ’s light and life were certainly lifted up in each setting as people gathered together. It’s not too late to join any of these groups, so please consider yourself invited. Over the next month I’ll be visiting with each one of our small groups and community groups and let me tell you, it is great to be with you in worship on Saturdays and Sundays, but it’s awesome to see what God is doing through RezDowntown’s small groups and community groups throughout the week. If you are interested in getting connected or experiencing God in smaller community groups, please check out the information below or contact Kelly Sisney and she will do her best to get you connected to the right group throughout the week.
In the meantime, here are ways to get connected to the life of this church over the next few weeks:
