Some people come to L'Arche communities to help people with a handicap. This is good. Others come because they themselves want to grow and sense that they need others to help, stimulate and encourage them; they see the community as the place of their growth. That is better, as long as they realize that their growth is linked to the growth of others.[Jean Vanier, Community and Growth, page 131]
