GLOBAL MINISTRY REQUESTS
Amy Bennett
Amy Bennett, daughter of Dr. Andy and Judy Bennett, and Dr. Bennett’s sister, Cammi, were in a car accident on April 30. Their injuries were significant, but not life-threatening. The Bennetts, missionaries to Papua New Guinea, had been speaking in Michigan, but Judy flew home on Thursday to be with Amy. Please pray for a speedy recovery for Amy and Cammi.
Missionary Prayer Focus
Thank you for praying for these requests that have been received from missionaries who are part of the May prayer focus:
Richard and Karen Brash, serving in the Mesoamerica Region
- Pray for our training in May. We anticipate long days packed with information and activity.
- Pray for us as we search for short-term housing.
- Pray for us as we begin our ministry in Curacao.
- Pray that God would set up divine appointments with those who are ready to hear the Good News and eager to start a Bible study.
- Hiram and Yanina Galvez, serving in Panama
- Pray for Yanina’s brothers in Venezuela to get to know Jesus and perhaps join the Church of the Nazarene in Venezuela.
- Pray for new radio stations to help spread the Gospel and for new tools such as online TV that would broadcast short programs with age-appropriate, relevant topics.
- Pray that the Lord’s presence will be experienced during praise and worship globally.
- Pray that God would provide a projector and screen for the local church in Panama City.
- Please pray for the Commonwealth of Independent States Field Nazarene Youth Conference (NYC) to be held July 2–5, 2015, in Armenia and for Joseph as he helps plan the event. Join us as we bathe the conference in prayer before, during, and after the event.
- Regarding the NYC, there are several hurdles to overcome. Please pray that through it all God will unify our field and empower new leaders.
- Please pray for David Argabright as he bicycles 575 miles to raise awareness for the children of Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka. The ride, beginning May 8, 2015, will be from Georgia to North Carolina. Please pray for David’s safety and for his wife, Sharon, who handles the logistics in the support and gear vehicle. Pray also for the children of Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.
- On April 25, a 7.8-magnitude earthquake struck Nepal. Pray for grieving families, for vulnerable children and families, for those responding to the disaster, and for our church leaders and members in Nepal. The Church of the Nazarene has more than 300 churches and church plants and 8,000 members in Nepal.
- Correction: Last week, one of the names in the May Missionary Prayer Focus was listed as “Ana Crocker de Diaz.” It should have been “Ana Zoila Diaz Crocker.” We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.
We must begin to believe that God, in the mystery of prayer, has entrusted us with a force that can move the heavenly world, and can bring its power down to earth.[Andrew Murray (1828–1917), South African writer, teacher, and Christian pastor]
