PRAISES:
Love Works in Ecuador
We praise the Lord for the children and adults that the Point Loma Nazarene University (PLNU) Love Works team and the Mid-America Nazarene University (MNU) interns ministered to in Ecuador recently. Some of the student missionaries told leaders that their mission experience in Ecuador may change how they are thinking about their future. Pray for the students as they return homes and for the people in Ecuador that they worked with. Pray that God’s love will linger in their hearts in powerful ways.
PRAY FOR:
GLOBAL MINISTRY REQUESTS
India Heat Wave
Sunil Dandge, India field strategy coordinator, shares about the extreme heat they are suffering by saying, "Hundreds of people are dying every day for the past several days. I checked with our leaders and did not hear of any Nazarenes who are affected, and we are thankful. It is very sad because it happens every year. Many of the causalities are the poor, elderly, and homeless. India Nazarenes are helping in the needy areas and they appreciate the church’s prayer support."
Ukraine Children at Risk
Tens of thousands of orphaned children live in Ukraine, often in substandard conditions. Many leave the orphanage, preferring life on the streets; others are forced out due to overcrowding. Pray for local Nazarene churches, who in partnership with Nazarene Compassionate Ministries (NCM), are providing ways for orphaned children in Ukraine to experience the love of Christ and gain opportunities for a better future. Learn more by clicking here to go to NCM's website.
Burundi
Pray for the people of Burundi. Last month, more than 100,000 people fled the country because of unrest (according to the BBC). Pray for Nazarene work in the country, church members and their families. Pray for those in Burundi who don’t know Christ. Pray that believers will have an open door to minister hope and truth during this unsettling time. (Out of Africa)
10/40 Window
Approximately 4.75 billion individuals reside in the 10/40 Window*. The Church of the Nazarene has work in many of the countries in the 10/40 Window, where presenting the Gospel often meets resistance. Pray for Nazarenes who minister in the 10/40 Window countries.
*The 10/40 Window was revised recently to include additional countries. The Joshua Project defines the 10/40 Window as a rectangular area of North Africa, the Middle East, and Asia approximately 10 degrees north and 40 degrees north latitude. The 10/40 Window has a high concentration of people groups considered to be unreached with the Gospel.
General Superintendents
Pray for the Ministry and safety of our General Superintendents as they travel during the month of June:
  • Jerry D. Porter
  • J. K. Warrick
  • Eugénio Duarte
  • David W. Graves
  • David A. Busic
  • Gustavo A. Crocker
BEREAVEMENT
Family of Earl Martin
Pray for the family of Earl Martin who passed away on May 29. Earl was the father of missionary Paul Martin who serves in Ghana. Pray for the Martin family during this time of loss. Pray also for Paul and his wife, Sharon, as they travel to be at the funeral services held this week in the United States.
Thank you for praying.
Units of prayer combined, like drops of water, makes an ocean which defies resistance.[E.M. Bounds (1835-1913), American minister and writer]
