Reflecting God - Embrace Holy Living from The Global Church of the Nazarene of Lenexa, Kansas, United States for Thursday, 25 June 2015 - "Light at the End of the Tunnel" Scripture: Isaiah 63:7 I will recall the grace of Adonai
and the praises of Adonai,
because of all that Adonai has granted us
and his great goodness toward the house of Isra’el,
which he bestowed on them in keeping with his mercy,
in keeping with the greatness of his grace.
8 For he said, “They are indeed my people,
children who are not disloyal.”
So he became their Savior.
9 In all their troubles he was troubled;
then the Angel of His Presence saved them;
in his love and pity he redeemed them.
He had lifted them up and carried them
throughout the days of old.
10 However, they rebelled,
they grieved his Holy Spirit;
so he became their enemy
and himself fought against them.
11 But then his people remembered
the days of old, the days of Moshe:
“Where is he who brought them up from the sea
with the shepherds of his flock?
Where is he who put his Holy Spirit
right there among them,
12 who caused his glorious arm to go
at Moshe’s right hand?
He divided the water ahead of them,
to make himself an eternal name;
13 he led them through the deep
like a sure-footed horse through the desert;
14 like cattle going down into a valley
the Spirit of Adonai had them rest.
This is how you led your people,
to make yourself a glorious name.”

"Light at the End of the Tunnel" by Author: Julia Roat-Abla
It doesn’t matter whether you are a miner, a spelunker, or a commuter: we are looking for the light at the end of the tunnel. That is what keeps us going when we know we are only halfway to where we hope to be. Without that small pinprick of light, we wouldn’t even know if we are on the right path. We might be effectively blind.
But the blindness Jesus refers to is not those without physical vision, but those unwilling to see and walk a path that may be difficult. They fail to see the hope and light in the midst of darkness.
Hope is found not in the narrowness or difficulty of the path to the cross, but in the One who leads us. Our Shepherd, Jesus Christ, who has already walked this path. This dim path is illumined by our Friend and Brother. He brings light to the darkest shadows. He clears the trail before us.
This is where God is at work, where his righteousness becomes our righteousness. As we take up His cross, we do not lose heart.
Hymn for Today: "TUNNEL" by Third Day
1. Well, I won't pretend to know what you're thinking
And I can't begin to know what you're going through
And I won't deny the pain that you're feeling
But I'm gonna try and give a little hope to you
Bridge:
Just remember what I told you
There's so much your living for
Chorus:
There's a light at the end of this tunnel
There's a light at the end of this tunnel for you, for you
And there's a light at the end of this tunnel
Shining bright at the end of this tunnel for you, for you
So keep holding on
2. You got your disappointments and sorrows
You ought to share the weight of that load with me
Then you will find that the light of tomorrow
Well it brings new life for your eyes to see
Bridge:
So remember what I told you
There's so much your living for
Chorus:
There's a light at the end of this tunnel
There's a light at the end of this tunnel for you, for you
There's a light at the end of this tunnel
Shining bright at the end of this tunnel for you, for you
So keep holding on, keep holding on
3. So remember what I told you
There's so much your living for
Chorus:
There's a light at the end of this tunnel
There's a light at the end of this tunnel for you, for you, yeah
There's a light at the end of this tunnel
Shining bright at the end of this tunnel for you, for you, yeah
Bridge:
There's a light at the end of this tunnel ooh, for you, for you, yeah
Shining bright at the end of this tunnel for you, for you
So keep holding on, keep holding on, keep holding on now
Bridge:
You got your disappointments and sorrows
I'm gonna try and give a little hope to you
