WHY START A SCHOLARSHIP?
My wife Nancy and I were enjoying a Saturday morning walk, when we stopped to take a closer look at some acorns near the sidewalk. It's ingenious how God has designed nature to self-propagate. These acorns are the fruit, the very best protection and nourishment that the tree can muster, so that the seed has every resource it needs to succeed and grow into a mature Burr Oak tree. It's the same with Christian parents, who spend their energy, time and resources to help their kids grow and become successful in serving God.
NTS is like that. In achieving the "primary objective of the Church of the Nazarene," we invest in the lives of preachers, teachers, missionaries and laypeople who will "advance God’s kingdom by the preservation and propagation of Christian holiness as set forth in the Scriptures.” (Nazarene Manual, p.5)
As the Gospel goes forward, it changes lives. As lives are changed our world is changed. It only makes sense that we, as a church, would provide the best we can to ensure the success of those who minister everywhere.
Please consider investing in the future by endowing a scholarship or giving to the President’s Leadership Grant. Our goal is to begin 70 new scholarships in this, the 70th anniversary year of NTS.
