Autism Speaks of New York, New York, United States for Wednesday, 20 September 2017 "Helping those facing extraordinary loss"
When Hurricanes Harvey and Irma made landfall, tens of millions of people were affected. Thousands of people with autism and their families were among them. Now with Maria bearing down on Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands millions more will need whatever assistance they can get.
Our Autism Response Team continues to receive calls from displaced autism families in need of emergency assistance and compassionate support during this difficult time.
Our Autism Speaks Cares emergency grant program has already delivered immediate funds directly into the hands of families in Florida and Texas to help purchase essentials lost in these historic storms.
But the need is growing fast. Your gift today can help us meet that need—no matter how great.
We will continue to be on call and ready to do what it takes to connect affected families to the resources and support they may need--from locating special needs shelters to helping, to find temporary autism care providers, to sharing tools to reduce stress and anxiety.
We need your support to reach even more families who remain in crisis.
Sincerely,

Angela Geiger
President and CEO
