Cuong Do, Autism Speaks of New York, New York, United States for Monday, 25 September 2017 "Be someone's hope"
Now that we fully grasp the overwhelming destruction caused by Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and now, Maria, the long journey to recovery begins. And, tragically, we still don't know what the rest of the 2017 season may bring.
Thankfully, a small yet powerful bright spot emerging from our national despair is that our Autism Speaks family has been able to deliver precious resources, information, and funding into the hands of those directly impacted.
That's why my wife Lori and I have come forward to make sure together we can do as much as we can for those in our autism community who have lost so much. We're matching your gifts to Autism Speaks up to $50,000. Together we can make a difference.
The funds will directly support those impacted by the destructive storms. Part of what sets this emergency funding apart is the speed we connect people, autism organizations and schools to the resources and funds that makes a real difference in times of crisis.
The need is great
And you should know, Gary Lee, that every eligible application for assistance we've received due to these historic storms has been processed and the funds are now helping each of those grantees as I'm writing to you. We've also answered hundreds of requests for information on resources and how to navigate this difficult time.
Please help us continue to deliver real relief today with your own generous donation. And with this match opportunity, rest assured that your generosity will go twice as far when it's so desperately needed.
Thank you for always doing what you can for our autism community.
Sincerely,
Cuong Do
Autism Speaks national board member
P.S. The Autism Response Team can be reached at familyservices@autismspeaks.org or 888 AUTISM2 and for Spanish speaking families (888) 772-9050.
Match applies only to donations made though the online form. Does not apply to previous donations, donations made offline or donations made to other fundraising campaigns.
