Reconciling Ministries Network in Chicago, Illinois, United States for Tuesday, 13 June 2017 "Annual Conference Season Update and other summer highlights at RMN"

Your witness at Annual Conference matters

Annual Conference season is always a busy time in the life of the Reconciling movement. Across the connection, Reconciling United Methodists host tables offering hospitality and education, advocate for LGBTQ legislation that is just, celebrate commissioning and ordination of LGBTQ candidates, make powerful witnesses of Biblical Obedience, and gather in community to renew faith and strength together.
We give thanks for the clear signs of the Spirit's moving in and through the work of the Reconciling community. Together, we keep showing up and God makes Godself known in that. Thank for your ongoing work and commitment to building a church that recognizes discrimination has no business entangling with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. You are making a difference.

Resolution reached in complaint against Rev. Blaedel
In 2016, Rev. Anna Blaedel faced a complaint for being a "self-avowed practicing homosexual" in the Iowa Annual Conference. A second complaint was filed against them this year that focused on their refusal to discriminate in pastoral duties as they officiated a wedding between two women. On June 5, 2017, a resolution was reached between Rev. Blaedel and the appointive cabinet of the Iowa Annual Conference. Read the resolution here and click below to read Rev. Blaedel's personal response.

Video curriculum for trans justice in your faith community
Trans-forming the church” is meant to help you and your faith community begin the conversation about how to support trans and gender non-conforming people in your church and in society at large. Led by Rev. Liam Hooper, RMN’s trans community organizer, this ten video series builds on personal experience, scripture and theology, and gender theory to empower you to deepen your understanding of God’s call on all of us to trans-form the church.
