X-CITING WORSHIP
Preaching Sunday Congressman Cleaver II.  We are thrilled to announce that on Sunday, June 11, Congressman Emanuel Cleaver II will be the guest preacher at all three of St James' worship celebrations. Our special musical guest at 11 a.m. will be Miranda Cherell and BGV" she is one-half of the Grammy award winning songwriting and producing team MirAlex. Come out and experience a true blessing through great music and preaching.  Sunday worship times at 8 a.m. and 11 a.m.Paseo Campus and 10:00 a.m. @ Renaissance Campus.

HeBrews Fellowship.  A full HeBrews will be held Sunday, June 11, in between the 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. in the Ministry Mall.   This week's Hebrews Fellowship is sponsored by Louis and Doris Peterson  If you would like to sponsor a fellowship, please contact Lisa Hardwick at lwhardwick@gmail.com or 816-305-6699.

Wednesday Night Live.  Join us Wednesday, June 7 @ 7 p.m. in the Ministry Mall for our continuing exploration of the Bible from Genesis to Revelations.  Led by Dr. 3 and the Pastoral Team, we wrestle with what the Bible says, the cultural context, people, places of the time and what it means for us today.  Please read Exodus 21-27, for this week's Bible study.

 
FAITH DEVELOPMENT
Senior Fitness & Bible Study.  Join us at the Paseo Campus every Wednesday from 11-11:30 a.m. for light to moderate exercise done from the comfort of a chair!  A trained fitness expert will guide you through exercises that help strengthen you, and the fellowship will help motivate you.  Then, stay for Senior Bible Study from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and get strengthened in the spirit!  Feel free to bring a dish and join us in the potluck lunch following our study time.

Bible Study at Renaissance.  Join us Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. for Bible study at the Renaissance Campus.  There is food, fellowship and the Word.  Come out and grow with your church family!

Prayer Time.  Continue with us in prayer every Tuesday and Thursday from 12 p.m. - 1 p.m. on the prayer line 530-881-1212, code 293680996.

Couples Class.  This Sunday School class for married and engaged couples meet Sunday @ 9:45 a.m in Room 2D.  We're reading Anger: Taming a Powerful Emotion, by Dr. Gary Chapman.  This series will help you and your spouse experience and respond to anger in a way that pleases the Lord AND help prevent conflict, resentment and unforgiveness in your relationship.  Call or text Charles Quinn at 816-654-2257 for more information.

Prayer Class.  Every 4th Sunday, learn how to build your prayer skills and broaden your personal faith development with Helen Walker in the Vaughn Chapel on June 25, 2017 at 9:45 a.m.

CONGREGATIONAL CARE
Christian Sympathy is extended to Charles Harris (JoAnn) at the passing of his mother and Wesley Fields at the passing of his grandmother, Frances Ruth Harris.

GriefShare.  No matter what the circumstances, grief recovery is a painful process.  St. James is offering support during this process with our GriefShare recovery seminar and support group.  We will work together on your journey from mourning to joy.  The series continues every Thursday night at 6:00 p.m., please contact Rosalyn Wilson at wgmn1969@att.net if you need additional information.

WORSHIP MINISTRIES
Acolytes Needed.  Children ages 4-12 are welcome to serve during our worship celebrations.  Contacts: Angela Baker (8 a.m.) at abswac@gmail.com or Risë Cockerm (11 a.m.) at rise289@gmail.com.

Little Vessel Ushers and Youth Ushers.  Children ages 5-11 and youth ages 12-18 serve as ushers every 3rd Sunday during 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. worship.  No experience needed - on the job training is provided.  The uniform is a white button down shirt and black slacks or skirt.  Contact Brenda Sylvan (children) at 816-942-4258 or Connie Frazier (youth) at 816-363-3468.

Connectors Needed.  Each ministry of the church is requested to serve at the Welcome Center.  Two persons are required for the 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. worship.  Ministry leads please note the dates your ministry is asked to serve.  If you find a date conflict please contact us a soon as possible.  Thank you for your ministry agreeing to serve:

Bowling League.  Tuesday6 p.m. at Premier Bowling Alley (11400 E 350 HWY Raytown MO 64139).  The league is open to all, so if you or someone you know likes to bowl this league is perfect for honing your skills.  If you don't have your own bowling gear for the league, the bowling alley provides bowling balls and shoes.  All proceeds are donated to the church.  E-mail samuel.colemanjr@yahoo.com for more information.

Spark Mini-Mobile Camp Registration - St. James UMC @ Renaissance - July 1-2, 2017.
Spark Mini-Mobile is a weekend camp filled with a ton of fun activities, Bible study, and worship/dance party time. The Missouri United Methodist Conference works with local churches all around Missouri to bring children a summer camp in their own backyard and give them an experience unlike one they've ever had before. Scouting Ministry
  • Cub Scouts (Grades 1-5) will meet every 1st and 3rd Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in Kidz Kingdom.

COMMUNITY NEWS
"A Community of Women for Climate Justice"  Please join the United Methodist Women Sunday, June 11 at 9:30 a.m. in the Ministry Mall for the monthly breakfast fellowship.  This month we will focus on our responsibility to reduce abuse and affirm our care of the world. 
 
Cleaver Senior Living Community.  The 40 Acres Team will continue to hold monthly meetings every 1st Tuesday @ 6 p.m.  The next meeting will be July 11due to the holiday, July 4.  Contact Sam Coleman, Sr. at samcoleman@sbcglobal.net for more information.
