Tonight is a FREE movie night in the RezWest Sanctuary! Join us 6:30pm to watch SING together! Bring comfy chairs or blankets to spread on the floor of the Sanctuary and a snack to share with everyone! We will have popcorn, drinks and a great place to watch and sing along to the movie with your friends.
On Sunday we kick off the ‘Rebels and Roses’ series as Pastor Adam preaches on the Gospel in the movies. Sunday we will look at Star Wars: Rogue One and how this epic battle between darkness and light informs our faith. Invite your friends and join us for this fun and energetic worship experience on Sunday at 8am, 9:30am, 11am, or 5pmwith Sunday School for 6 months through 5th grade at all services.

DIY July FaithWork – July is "do your own FaithWork serving" month! Help someone in need: do some yardwork for a neighbor who is going through a hard time, visit with patients at a nursing home, sort donations at a food or clothing pantry or at a thrift store, take a plate of cookies to a Fire House or Police Station with a card of thanks, give your undivided attention to a person who needs it, fill a school supply drive bag for Ridgeview... Then, feel free to send any updates or pictures of your DIY FaithWork adventures to chris.holliday@cor.orgHave a great July as you follow the example of Jesus and spend time loving and serving your neighbors!
KiDSCOR is calling - Summertime in KiDSCOR means regular volunteers take a break and others dive in for some fun. Many places are still available and in need of volunteers to allow our rooms to stay open in welcoming our many young friends. Head to cor.org/west/teamsummer to select 3 or more dates and be given a t-shirt!
Back to School Mega Mission on Saturday, Aug. 5. Meet at 9 am in the Resurrection West Sanctuary for prayer, project sign-ups, final instructions, coffee and breakfast snacks. Then, we’ll pack up the supplies and travel to Ridgeview Elementary to sort and organize school supplies, prepare classrooms, make crafts to welcome and support teachers, write encouraging notes to students and help with maintenance and beautifying the grounds. Please bring gardening gloves, yard tools, rakes, shovels and wheelbarrows if you have them. About 11:30 am, we’ll host and enjoy a Celebration Picnic alongside the students and families of the Ridgeview community complete with water play and fun for all ages! We should be all done and cleaned up by 1:30 pm. No sign-ups are necessary. Just come out and serve. Also, feel free to wear any year’s MEGA MISSION t-shirt (extras will be available). RezWest Lake Worship Event on August 6th. On that afternoon we will gather together at Kill Creek Park beach for some swim time fun, followed by worship on the beach (we will move our evening service to the beach that Sunday after swim time - starting at 6pm) and share in a moving baptism service together. We already have a few registered to be baptized in Kill Creek Lake and maybe you, or members of your family, are also ready to receive baptism. You can pre-register for baptism by going tocor.org/west/baptisms. When you are completing the online form and it comes to the date and service time request, simply write in ‘August 6th lake baptism’. We will be baptizing by full immersion, pouring over the head (just knees deep in the water), and by sprinkling at the water’s edge (no feet in the water). There will also be a time for all to remember their baptism with a sign of the cross placed on the forehead with water at the water's edge. This will certainly be a memorable and exciting night together and a great night to invite a friend!
Back to School Blessing – Sunday, August 13 during worship. Our next ‘Worship Together Sunday’ we will be celebrating and praying for the beginning of the school year with a special blessing over all of our children and teens as they begin the new school year.
Registration is now open for the RezWest Men’s Fly-Fishing retreat Aug 25-27: Relax, unwind and enjoy the outdoors at the world-class Rockbridge, MO Rainbow Trout and Game Ranch. The trip cost is $145 per person and includes a fishing permit for the trip (meals and gratuities extra). A maximum of 28 spots are available, so register now at cor.org/west/mensflyfishing. You don’t have to be an expert fly fishermen to go - each year beginners signup and are coached and mentored by the more experienced guys - plus time in the evenings to share some great meals, worship, and connect together over the stories of the day!
W.O.W. (Women of West) Conference Friday, August 25 – Make plans now to attend the first ever WOW Conference! Women are invited to gather at Resurrection West, Friday, Aug. 25 at 5 pm, for an evening of renewal and fellowship. Registration is $40 per person and includes a t-shirt for those who register by July 31. Conference speakers include Diane Robertson, Lisa Holliday, Anne Williams and Brandy Young. Finally, the Gant family leaves today on vacation to Colorado, Mt. Rushmore, and the Badlands before returning home. My family and I thank you for this time of rest and renewal and look forward to great experiences and memories made together, including worshiping at churches nearby our destinations! Our staff team are the best I’ve ever worked with and will serve and shepherd in amazing ways while I’m gone. You should know just how committed they are in the mission of our church and to each of you. They go above and beyond to lead with excellence bringing us closer and closer to the vision of changing lives, transforming the community and renewing churches. Its a true blessing to serve beside them!
