Resurrection West,
This coming Sunday will be one of the most important days to worship together all year as pastor Adam returns to the pulpit to speak about ‘Christianity and Suicide’. Sadly we have lost six people over the past 1 1/2 months to suicide, across all of our campuses. Pastor Adam will be preaching and teaching through this issue as we explore the heart of God and Scriptures offered to guide us. Please consider a friend or family member you might invite to worship with us at 8am, 9:30am, 11am, or 5pm. We would love to welcome them as we explore this issue as people of faith. All KiDSCOR Sunday School programs resume at all services for 6 months - 5th grade. We want to encourage all teens from 6th grade up to worship with their family each week, and especially this Sunday!
On Thursday, July 13, at 6:30 pm in the Leawood Campus Sanctuary, there will be a Panel Discussion on Suicide Prevention. Panel members will include pastors and mental health clinicians from our community. All are welcome to come.

Then, feel free to send any updates or pictures of your DIY FaithWork adventures to Chris.Holliday@cor.org. Have a great July as you follow the example of Jesus and spend time loving and serving your neighbors!
KiDSCOR is calling - Summertime in KiDSCOR means regular volunteers take a break and others dive in for some fun. RezWest Lake Worship Event on August 6th. On that afternoon we will gather together at Kill Creek Park beach for some swim time fun, followed by worship on the beach (we will move our evening service to the beach that Sunday after swim time - starting at 6pm) and share in a moving baptism service together. We already have a few registered to be baptized in Kill Creek Lake and maybe you, or members of your family, are also ready to receive baptism. You can pre-register for baptism by going tocor.org/west/baptisms. When you are completing the online form and it comes to the date and service time request, simply write in ‘August 6th lake baptism’. We will be baptizing by full immersion, pouring over the head (just knees deep in the water), and by sprinkling at the water’s edge (no feet in the water). There will also be a time for all to remember their baptism with a sign of the cross placed on the forehead with water at the water's edge. This will certainly be a memorable and exciting night together and a great night to invite a friend!
Back to School Blessing – Sunday, August 13 during worship. Our next ‘Worship Together Sunday’ we will be celebrating and praying for the beginning of the school year with a special blessing over all of our children and teens as they begin the new school year.
Blood Drive Sponsors Needed – Do you have contacts with any organization that might sponsor a blood drive? Would you become an advocate for the community? Examples include your employer or other businesses, social, military, fraternal or educational groups. Although Resurrection will host a blood drive in August, the Community Blood Center needs blood now due to increased summer demand. Please contact Jim Sajevic at the Community Blood Center, 816-210-6801.
Learn, Grow & Serve with Building Better Moms at Rez West - Registration is now open! Enjoy fellowship and fun with moms who can relate to your daily joys and challenges. Relevant discussion will meet you where you are as a mom, a woman and a friend. Groups are currently forming for moms with children newborn through high school, including daytime and evening options.
