Resurrection West,
Tomorrow will be a great day of service to our community and beyond. Join us at the Share your Heart All Church Serve Day • Saturday, February 14 • 9:00am • Leawood Campus (Bldg. B) • 13720 Roe Ave.
This event will serve as our West Campus February FaithWork. We will be meeting in Leawood with all Resurrection campuses as one church to take action right here in our own community and be a part of saving lives around the world. In partnership with Heart to Heart International’s Operation Ebola, we invite you to join in packing 10,000 care kits that will be distributed worldwide for those suffering after a natural disaster or in areas of widespread illness including the Ebola epidemic in Africa. Heart to Heart Care Kits offer a first line of defense against the spread of illness — the first step toward good health. Also, personal hygiene is one of the top needs for people struggling with the unexpected loss of shelter, food and water due to disaster. A variety of other family-friendly serving, educational and inspirational events are also scheduled throughout the day. Come for just an hour or two, or make a day of it. Multiple shifts available between 9 am and 3 pm. Lunch will be available for purchase. Sign up by visiting cor.org/shareyourheart
This past Tuesday night was an historic night at Resurrection West! We shared the schematic design of our phase 2 building plans, prayed around God’s vision for our church, and took the official vote to move forward. The vote was UNANIMOUS!! 142 votes YES to move forward on the building expansion and capital campaign with 0 votes NO. In the coming weeks and months ahead we have incredible work to do as we consider God’s call to sacrifice for this campaign and building expansion. You can see more information including the designs, details, statistics, and more at our new Branching Out: Making Room For All web-site. Go to branchingout.rezwest.org

This year’s retreat is about being “All In.” Together we will explore what a deeply committed Christian life means and how we can grow towards that purpose and goal. Speakers include Jeff Kirby (Leawood Pastor of Discipleship and Men’s Ministry), Chris Folmsbee (Leawood Director of Adult Discipleship) and Jason Gant, our own campus pastor, along with special guest, Ron Smith. The Retreat is Friday, March 6, 6:30-9 pm (dinner included), and Saturday, March 7, 8:30 am – noon (breakfast included), at the Leawood Campus Student Center. Finally, I will be leading the middle school Totally Tubular snow tubing retreat to Des Moines, Iowa this Sunday and Monday. We have almost 60 6th-8th grade students going! This will be a fun time of snow tubing, worship, and connection over this President’s day holiday. Our new Director of Student Ministries, Rick Webb - who starts on March 1st at West - will also be stopping by to connect with our students and leaders. Rick has been serving Ankeny United Methodist Church, which is just north of Des Moines. Rick is excited to connect with our middle school students and begin to build relationships that point students to a deeper relationship with Christ and with one another! I invite you to pray for a safe and fun weekend, filled with spiritual growth and fun!
