PRAISES:
Worldwide Child Development Centers
We give praise that:
More than 19,640 children gained education, nutrition, life skills, and spiritual formation through 156 Nazarene child development centers (CDC) in 36 countries worldwide.
Churches started new CDCs throughout Africa, South America, and Eurasia.
Almost 12,000 children received support through Nazarene Compassionate Ministries' Child Sponsorship program.
In addition, 7 leadership scholarships were awarded so that students from the child sponsorship program could study at the university level.
With 19,640 children being served through Nazarene CDCs, a conservative estimate is that local churches are investing more than 13 Million hours each year in the lives of children!
Lord, thank you for your faithfulness and for a church that generously gives to Nazarene Child Sponsorship!Go to http://cs.ncm.org to learn more.

GREATEST NEED
BENEFITS
Nazarene Compassionate Ministries’ child sponsorship program focuses on holistic child development, encouraging children to grow in all areas of their lives: physical, intellectual, emotional, relational, and spiritual. Through child sponsorship, children have the opportunity to:
Grow up healthy. Sponsored children receive supplemental nutrition, hygiene education, and preventative health care.
Receive an education. A child’s sponsorship assists with school fees, uniforms, books, supplies, and even transportation. Education gives a child opportunities for a brighter future.
Gain confidence and social skills. Sponsored children gain confidence as they learn that they are capable and as they learn how to interact with others in a healthy way—equipping children to be agents of change in their communities.
Develop spiritually. Sponsored children experience Christ-like love through the staff and volunteers at child development centers, and they have the opportunity to learn from the Bible and pray together.
Build a relationship with a sponsor. Through letters, cards, and photos, sponsored children receive love, encouragement, and support from caring sponsors. This relationship gives children a sense of their value and hope for the future.
PROCESS
1. Choose a child to sponsor. You can search by location, gender, age, and birthday. You can also allow us to match you with a child in need of a sponsor.
2. Sign up through our simple online process.
3. Within 2 weeks, you will receive a New Sponsor Packet, which will include your sponsored child’s photo and profile, plus additional information about how NCM’s child sponsorship program works.
4. Begin your relationship with your sponsored child!
OUR APPROACH
Our child sponsorship program is based on a Holistic Child Development model that seeks to simultaneously address key aspects of a child’s life—spiritual, physical, intellectual, emotional, and relational—through learning opportunities and developmental interventions. Through this model, children are encouraged to grow into the people God created them to be.
Through NCM’s child sponsorship program, children are enrolled in a Holistic Child Development program that includes the following:
- Spiritual Development: NCM partners with local churches to help children understand that God loves them, that they are created in God’s image, that they are valued and have God-given dignity, and that they can have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Physical Development: To ensure healthy physical and mental development, children gain supplemental nutrition, hygiene education, and preventative health care.
- Intellectual Development: By providing tutoring, formal education, and life skills training, Holistic Child Development programs help children develop their minds and gain opportunities for future employment that will help them interrupt the cycle of poverty and will benefit them throughout their lives.
- Emotional Development: As a result of poverty, hunger, natural disasters, war, and the HIV/AIDS pandemic, many children live with the scars of emotional trauma. Holistic Child Development programs enable children to heal and grow by connecting them with caring sponsors, counselors, and a local church family.
- Relational Development: Through Holistic Child Development programs and the wisdom and love of committed sponsors and local leaders, children learn to work and play together, build lasting relationships, and love God and others.
NCM’s Holistic Child Development model also recognizes the importance of family and community in a child’s life, knowing that the best child development happens when children grow up in the context of a loving, healthy, empowered family. We are committed to working alongside families and communities to help children develop their God-given potential.

Karen State, Myanmar: A tragic story is emerging today out of the country of Myanmar.
On Saturday, November 21st, in the early morning hours (around 2:00am) fire broke out in the home of one of our Nazarene families.
While the children and adults were able to escape, a paralyzed man, the brother of the home owner’s wife, perished in the fire. The Karen churches are mourning the loss of this church member.
Now the home owner (also a member of the church) has been arrested as part of the investigation into the fire. The entire family is very active in the local church ministry.
Please pray for all involved, for the family as they deal with this tragic loss, for the churches as they come together to support the family, and for the man who has been imprisoned. Pray that the investigation would be objective and that no one would be falsely accused.[Submitted: Pastor Jerome T.]

Pray also for Ina's husband, Jaap, as he and their family care for her during this time. Jaap and Ina served in Africa for 32 years in the countries of Mozambique, South Africa, and Botswana.
Lisa’s Mother
Missionary Lisa Lehman asks, “Please join me in prayer for my mom. She has been recovering slowly from medical procedures. Last week, she began having intense abdominal pain that hasn’t responded to medication. Mom is now hospitalized and doctors are trying to determine the cause of her pain and a course of treatment.” Lisa serves in Thailand.
Don Walker-UPDATE
Retired missionary Don Walker had successful spine surgery on November 19. However, soon after he developed pneumonia and then had a heart attack. Don was to undergo a procedure on November 23 to determine what caused the attack. Please keep praying for Don. He and his wife, Mary Lou, served in Kenya, Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Papua New Guinea.
Marion Rich-UPDATE
We continue to pray for former missionary Marion Rich who was in a serious car accident on September 29. Marion was moved to a skilled nursing facility recently but landed back in the hospital in ICU with an infection last week. She recovered from the infection and is now at a long-term acute care hospital in downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This is an hour’s drive for her husband, Harry. Please pray for his encouragement and safety as he makes daily trips to see his wife. Please continue to pray for Marion’s complete recovery. She and Harry served in Haiti and Rwanda. They are also the parents of missionary Dwight Rich who serves in Ecuador.
