Greetings RezDowntowners,
I can't believe it's already Friday again. Time is flying, but perhaps that's because there's a ton going on in the life of our church. First and foremost, given the amazing weather planned for this weekend, I want to be sure to invite all of our RezMoms and RezDads to join Pastor Anne, Matt Bisel and a lot of our families on Saturday morning for some apple picking! On Saturday, Sept. 23rd at 10am we'll meet at the Alldredge Orchards to enjoy a day of apple picking fun. Alldredge Orchards is located at 10455 State Hwy. N, Platte City, MO 64079. You can emailMatt.Bisel@cor.org with any questions, but there's no registration required just come on out and join us!
Secondly, this weekend will be a historic weekend in our church's story largely because we'll have the opportunity to sign the beams that will hold our future sanctuary together. This weekend is your only chance to pray over and sign the structural beams that will be visible in our sanctuary for generations to come. After each worship service, we'll be inviting our members to walk out of worship services onto the construction site to pray over and sign structural beams, while also praying for God's future for our church, community and city. Invite friends and family members to join you, as this is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
This weekend we are also planning to conclude our series on Simon Peter, by focusing on the rest of the story and the movement of the early church. I am looking forward to seeing you as we share in this great moment together by signing the beams in our future sanctuary!
Happy Friday and God's Peace,
Pastor Scott
