The California=Pacific Conference of The United Methodist Church in Pasadena, California, United States "In Honor of Bishop Carcaño" Three ways to honor Bishop Minerva G. Carcaño...for Monday, 1 August 2016In Honor of Bishop Carcaño
On September 1, 2016 Bishop Minerva G. Carcaño will assume her new assignment as the Resident Bishop of the California-Nevada Conference. Our California-Pacific Conference family is deeply grateful for Bishop Carcaño’s Spirit-filled and bold leadership during her tenure as the episcopal leader of the Los Angeles Area of The United Methodist Church. We acknowledge and appreciate her grace and grit and her departure leaves a hole in our hearts.
The California-Pacific Conference Committee on Episcopacy invites our Cal-Pac family to consider participating in any of the following opportunities to honor Bishop Carcaño and express our deep gratitude for who she is:
1) Imagine No Malaria
Giving to Imagine No Malaria, in honor of Bishop Carcaño for leading Cal-Pac in reaching a God-sized goal of $3 million dollars, is a great way to express gratitude to her while saving lives. Your congregation’s contributions will be added to the $1.7 million already raised. Our goal is to save at least 10,000 lives in the month of August, so take pictures of events held to raise the funds and share them via social media to increase awareness, initiate challenges, and save more lives.
2) Memory Book
A scrapbook of memories with Bishop Carcaño is being produced. The Cal-Pac family is invited to contribute love notes and photos. The deadline for such contributions is August 15, 2016 to Gail Kendall (gkendall@calpacumc.org or PO Box 6006, Pasadena, CA 91102-6006). Contributions must be no larger than 8.5 x 11 inches in size and should include the date of memory as the book will be arranged in chronological order.
3) Video Cards
A compilation video of appreciation is being produced. The Cal-Pac family is invited to contribute short videos (ie. when Bishop Carcaño was in your ministry setting; greetings from your church leaders and congregants; stories about ministries that are a direct consequence of the bishop's inspiration and/or encouragement; etc) to James Kang (jkang@calpacumc.org or jkang@calpacumc.org).
Thank you, Cal-Pac family, for your love, prayers, and support for Bishop Carcaño as she concludes her sojourn with us!
Yours in Christ,
Rev. N. Adiel A. DePano
Chair, Committee on Episcopacy

Inspiring the world as passionate followers of Jesus Christ so all may experience God's life-giving love...
