The Reverend Ardith O. "Art" Ernst, 87, a clergy member of the Great Plains Conference passed away April 22, 2015. Born September 13, 1927 in Adams County, Neb. to Orla Edward and Mary Belle (Whitmore) Ernst. U. S. Air Force Veteran. A Hastings College graduate, Perkins School of Theology at S.M.U. and additional studies at San Francisco Theological Seminary. Served in Inland, Bladen, Scottsbluff, Wauneta, Lincoln Warren, Fairbury, Doniphan, Rosedale, Broken Bow (Custer Parish), Norfolk, and Lexington, Ne.
Surviving members include his wife, Jane; sons, Richard (Michele) Ernst, Dr. Randal (Dr. Teresa Wanser) Ernst, all of Lincoln; daughter, Heather (John) David, Woodbridge, Va.
Memorial Service: 2 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2015 at St. Marks United Methodist Church, 8550 Pioneers Blvd. with Rev. Wayne Alloway officiating. Memorials in lieu of flowers to N.E. Kiwanis Foundation or St. Marks United Methodist Church. No Visitation/Cremation. Condolences online at Roperandsons.com.
