A Special Message From Your Campus Pastors
First of all, we just want to say a giant THANK YOU for your faithfulness through the giving of your tithes and offerings. We hope you are inspired by the weekly “God stories” across all of our campuses that are made possible as a result of your generous giving. Those stories allow us to celebrate the difference our giving makes as we unite together to see the Kingdom of God built around our city and across the world. Your incredible faithfulness in partnering with God and Newbreak has transformed lives. Again – thank you!
Speaking of celebrating, we are thrilled to have just celebrated the most spectacular event in all of human history – Jesus’ resurrection. Across all of our campuses, some 253 people made decisions to follow Jesus on Easter weekend. Think about the lives and entire family systems that will be forever changed because of those decisions! In March, we also baptized 49 people who wanted to publicly demonstrate their commitment to following Jesus. God is doing spectacular things here at Newbreak and we are privileged to follow Him as we care for and disciple those whose God stories are just beginning.
Our generous giving helps facilitate these types of life transformation. All of Newbreak’s outreaches, ministries, events, staff, and facilities are funded through our giving. This requires walking in faith and making wise decisions – both for those who give and for those entrusted with the decisions on how to use such funds. This is why godly men and women surround our leadership and help us make these decisions.
While there is a lot to celebrate, one of the challenges we currently face is that giving has been down by about 18% since November 2014. We always anticipate some fluctuation in any given period, but this latest trend has created a number of serious fiscal challenges. Some of our Pastoral and staff leadership have volunteered to take pay cuts to help remedy this situation. Unfortunately, however, we have also had to lay off several staff members and we have been unable to replace personnel who have recently left our staff. Our Elder Leadership Team, Senior Leadership Team, Campus Pastor Leadership Team, and other Directors are continually making strategic decisions in order to respond to this current fiscal challenge. While you may see some maintenance to our facilities taking place, it’s because some people have approached their campus pastors with gifts above and beyond their normal tithes to specifically fund much-needed changes to their campuses.
We ask specifically that you pray for Newbreak Church and for us as your Pastors as we navigate this difficult time. We would ask you to prayerfully consider where you are on your generosity journey and pray through your next steps. As we have learned in the past, generosity is not something God wants from us, but rather, for us. We pray that you see the difference our collective giving makes when it comes to changing lives and positively impacting communities. We encourage you to pray, be as consistent as possible with your giving, and consider what God wants your next steps to be.
God always proves himself faithful. With the Psalmist we say, “Who is like you, Lord God Almighty? You, Lord, are mighty and your faithfulness surrounds you.”[Psalm 89:8]
Our goal is to be become better stewards of the resources entrusted to us, and one way we can do this is by providing giving statements online rather than printing and mailing them to you. Please go to https://newbreak.infellowship.com/UserLogin to view your giving statements, or if you do not have a login, please go to https://newbreak.infellowship.com/UserLogin/New to create an online account. If you need any help with this, or have questions, please feel free to contact your campus pastor.
Thank you for your amazing generosity as we continue to connect people with God through authentic relationships to serve communities. Thank you for being a part of what God is doing in and through this wonderful church called Newbreak. And thank you for allowing us the great privilege and honor to serve alongside of you. You are an incredible church!
Blessings,
Pastor Mike, Pastor Robert, Pastor Darrel, Pastor Carter, Pastor Steve, Pastor Eric, Pastor DJ
