The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection West eNote from Pastor Jason Gant - Friday, 1 May 2015

The United Methodist Church of the Resurrection West eNote from Pastor Jason Gant - Friday, 1 May 2015
Resurrection West,
This past weekend was incredible in the life of our church, with over 80 of you serving across our community at MEGA MISSION on a soggy Saturday morning. We then had a great KiDS COR event at the new Olathe Community Center, followed by swimming fun! On Sunday hundreds of you made your financial commitments to branch out and make room for all. Thank you for your commitment! If you have yet to turn in your card, please do so this Sunday. Commitment cards will be available in the bulletin and you may place it in the offering plate. You don’t want to miss being a part of God’s movement through this campaign and the future of our church! Last Sunday, I heard powerful stories of sacrifice and faith from many of you regarding your commitment. Please join me in continued prayer as the commitments come in! Once you turn in your commitment card, be sure to pick up your Red Maple seedling. The seedlings are starting to bud, and are ready to grow, kind of like our church!
This Sunday we will have a special opportunity to download pastor Adams’ book “Why” for FREE, or purchase it for only $5.We will share the download code in worship! Adam has written many inspiring and informative books, but this book is my absolute favorite and the book I have suggested to people more than any other. Adam will be preaching about hope and why it prevails. This will be an encouraging message for us all! Don’t miss it!
This Sunday afternoon is our coffee with the pastors and we have room for you. This is our gathering about membership here at Resurrection West. You’ll hear testimony from pastor Chris and myself, the history of our church, what it means to be United Methodist, and expectations of membership. We already have a good size group registered and would love for you to join us this Sunday from2:30-4:30pm. Childcare available. Register at rezwest.org/coffee
Check out these great opportunities for mission and ministry.

We will also run one-day basketball and soccer clinics this summer, July 8/9. Finally, my wife is out of town at an annual girls get together with some long-time girlfriends and I get to have some daddy - daughters connection time. We are camping over the next couple of days and plan to fish, bike ride, and relax around the campfire. They are just a little excited and I have also promised to teach Hailey some magic tricks (you might remember I mentioned in my sermon that she is an aspiring magician). We look forward to returning for worship and coffee with the pastors on Sunday, hopefully without poison ivy! Please remember to spend time in prayer over your sacrifice and turn in your pledge card this Sunday!
Looking forward to worshiping with you on Sunday,
Pastor Jason
