"Equipping Kirehe" from Partners In Health for Thursday, 25 June 2015
In rural Rwanda, health care for newborn babies is limited, and infant mortality remains a heartbreaking problem. But it doesn't have to be this way.
Right now, PIH is working with the Rwandan Ministry of Health to build a special care unit for newborns at the remote Kirehe District Hospital.
New families throughout the impoverished region will be able to access critical care when they need it most. But to make that happen we need to make sure this unit is equipped with the incubators, cribs, IV pumps, and other vital equipment to keep babies alive.
Will you consider a gift of $15 today to buy the crucial equipment that saves babies' lives?
Rwanda has made great strides in reducing child deaths, and the new neonatal unit will help expand this progress to young families around the Kirehe District.
Every month, the new ward will treat up to 80 babies with high-quality health care.
And every day, around the clock, our medical team of doctors and nurses will work to ensure that tiny, vulnerable babies born in Kirehe, Rwanda, grow into healthy, happy infants.
To get there, we need to raise $59,000 to equip the unit with all the tools it needs.
Will you consider a gift today to buy the crucial equipment that saves babies' lives?
Thank you for making this work possible.
