Wednesday Night Live, November 11th at 7:00 p.m. - Guest Preacher Bishop Rudolph McKissick, Jr., Senior Pastor of Bethel Baptist Institutional Church in Jacksonville, Florida.
Banquet: Friday, November 13th - American Jazz Museum - Tickets $50.00. Only 200 seats are available, so get your ticket soon!
Worship: Sunday, November 15th - One worship celebration at10:00 a.m. with a reception immediately following. Tag team preaching with Dr. Emanuel Cleaver III and Congressman Emanuel Cleaver II. To advance the ministry of St. James for the next 60 years, please give a Founder's Day offering of $60.00.
Trunk or Treat
Saturday October 31st is Trunk or Treat, a family friendly, fun and safe Halloween alternative, from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. in the North Parking Lot. This event is open to the St. James family and members of our community. Note: no scary or violent costumes.
Volunteers are needed to donate candy, candy and candy! We need individually wrapped pieces of candy in large quantities.
We also need volunteers to decorate their vehicles and hand out candy. There will be a contest for the best decorated vehicle!

#GOBIBLEDEEP. Learn and grow with a new St. James Bible study. This first short-term study is led by Dr. Cleaver and the St. James ministry team. Join us as we explore the miracles of Jesus and the mysteries of the Bible Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. through November 5th in the Vaughan Chapel.
Personal Finance Ministry. Everyone is invited to join the Personal Finance Education and Empowerment Ministry (PFEEM) Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. in Room 2F. Each session is FREE and open to the public. Learn about money management, debt reduction, insurance, how to build wealth and much more. These are workshops will last for seven weeks. Contact H. Diabetes Awareness - November is Diabetes Awareness Month. The Health Ministry will sponsor a workshop Saturday, November 21st from 9a-12:00 p.m. in the Ministry Mall. Adult Literacy. There are over 145,000 adults living in Kansas City who have been assessed as functionally illiterate. Mark Your Calendars for November 1st! St. James has an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those adults through our exciting new ministry called Ticket to Read! It's an adult literacy and education delivery system that will help us provide a much needed support to community residents in our neighborhoods. Our new ministry is working with a dynamic community partner - Literacy Kansas City-- to ensure we are bringing quality education to those individuals who need help with literacy skills. We need your help. You can serve as a volunteer or sign-up to get the upcoming volunteer tutor training. Sunday, November 1st is National Family Literacy Day! The Mustard Seed Choir rehearses Saturdays at 10 a.m. in the Vaughan Chapel. Rehearsals are open to children ages 5-11. The children sing on second Sundays during 11:00 a.m. worship. Contact Jennifer Booker atjenrbooker@yahoo.com.

Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. Come join the fun Tuesdays, at 6:00 p.m. in Kidz Kingdom for Cub Scouts (Grades 1-5) and Boy Scouts (Grades 6-12)! Boys do not have to be members of St. James UMC to participate, so bring a classmate or neighbor.
